NASCAR drivers Daniel Suarez, Michael McDowell brawl during qualifying

NASCAR fans expected tensions to boil over between drivers at some point in 2019 during the polarizing group qualifying sessions under the new aero package, but no one could have predicted that Daniel Suarez and Michael McDowell would be involved in the first fight of the season.
McDowell got in the way of Suarez while Suarez was trying to set a fast time in the first stage at ISM Raceway in Phoenix, and McDowell accused Suarez of trying to retaliate on the track. Both drivers were eliminated after the first stage, and when Suarez walked over to McDowell on pit road, a short fight broke out.
Suarez tossed McDowell to the ground, and was then pinned to the hood of McDowell's car. McDowell grabbed Suarez's leg and tried to drag him off the car, but was unsuccessful.
McDowell told reporters that he and Suarez don't have a history of issues, and chalked up the incident to the heat of the moment.
“Don’t read too much into it. It’s just emotions, man.” McDowell said he and Suarez don’t have a history; in fact they went to a hockey game together last night.

McDowell teammate @DavidRagan, speculating on the cause of the fight: “When you have a bunch of knucklehead drivers wait until there’s four minutes left and 30 cars haven’t run, that’s what you have.” (He included himself in that, saying he screwed up Kurt Busch’s lap.)

United qualified for the last eight of the tournament in dramatic fashion after a late Marcus Rashford penalty put the Red Devils through on away goals.
Fred struggled to find his feet under Solskjaer's predecessor Jose Mourinho and admitted as much in an interview with ManUtd.com.
He said: "Things have been difficult for me, I have been out of the team and that has been frustrating.
"But, I have never let that get me down and have never let my head go down."

Brisbane Lions defeat Melbourne Demons 16.8 (104) to 15.7 (97)

Melbourne have been left counting the cost of their final hit out ahead of the home and away season getting underway.
The Demons fell to the Brisbane Lions 16.8 (104) to 15.7 (97) to make it to straight losses in the JLT.
But the losses took a back seat to the nightmare injuries suffered to several players with another potentially under fire from the match review panel.
Boom recruit Steven May could be in doubt for the season opener after delivering a late front on bump to Jarrod Berry.
But Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin is confident his new star defender will be given the all clear.
“I had a bit of a look at that. (It) seemed minimal contact to me; he was just standing there ready to block,” Goodwin said.
“So I’m really confident he’ll be right to play. I thought he worked his way into the game today. Obviously, he was a bit slow early, but I felt he built some momentum as the game went on.”
Unfortunately the real concern for the Demons came in the form of two gruesome injuries to key players in the line up.
Big-bodied midfielder James Harmes left the match with a dislocated finger and had to be taken to hospital.
The second injury to strike the club was to flashy defender Jay Kennedy-Harris who landed awkwardly after contesting a marking contest.
As soon as he hit the ground he clutched for his leg and was seen rolling around in agony as the game was brought to a halt.
A stretcher was brought onto the field to take Kennedy-Harris off and the club was initially fearing the worst.
“It looked nasty. We were fearing ACL, but he’s gone and had a scan, which is all clear. But it will be a while for Jay; he’s got some bone bruising, but good news is it wasn’t an ACL,” Simon Goodwin said.

India Women Lose 3rd T20I By 1 Run As England Complete 3-0 Whitewash

Despite an impressive half-century by Smriti Mandhana, India women lost the third and final T20 International (T20I) by a solitary run in a last-ball thriller in Guwahati as England women completed a 3-0 whitewash on Saturday. After opting to bat, England managed to score 119 for six in their allotted 20 overs. Chasing the small target, India looked in a comfortable position as Smriti Mandhana smashed 58 off 39 balls, including eight boundaries and a six. Leading run-scorer in women's One-day International cricket, Mithali Raj took the charge of team's run-chase after the departure of Mandhana.
However, the experienced batswoman failed to shoulder the responsibility when India needed three runs in the last over with six wickets in hand. In the end, Mithali Raj was unbeaten on 30, including four boundaries in her 32-ball knock.
Kate Cross led the bowling attack for England with two wickets in the final over. She dismissed Bharati Fulmali and Anuja Patil for five and zero respectively in consecutive deliveries of the last over.
Anya Shrubsole, Linsey Smith and Laura Marsh chipped in with a wicket each in England's nail-biting victory.
Earlier, wicketkeeper-batsman Tammy Beaumont top-scored for England with 29 runs as India restricted the visitors to a modest 119/6.
Anuja Patil and Harleen Deol picked up two wickets each for India, while Ekta Bisht and Poonam Yadav contributed with a scalp each.
India women had lost the first two T20Is at the same venue after having clinched the three-match ODI series 2-1.
India won the first two ODIs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to seal crucial points as the three-match ODI series was part of the ICC Championship.

Footballer booked for climbing ladder to change score after penalty

Footballers often get themselves into the referee's book by over-celebrating important goals.
Luis Acuna, who plays for Guatemalan second division side Deportivo Carcha, climbed his way into trouble after putting away a late penalty.
Immediately after hitting the back of the net, he scaled a ladder behind the goal and took it upon himself to change the score on the scoreboard.
The referee showed him a yellow card, but his penalty was decisive as his team ended up winning the match 1-0.
